 2015, 16년쯤 정말 많이 듣던 그룹이었네요. 
 그 이후 해외 생활하면서 좀 바쁘게 지내서 (그리고 그때 갖고있던 유일한 이어폰 se535 오른쪽 유닛이 반으로 갈라지는 바람에) 잘 안듣다, 새 보컬로 신보가 나왔다는 것과, 전 보컬 앨리스 글래스가 다른 멤버, 이선 캐스를 미투했다는 소식을 듣게 되었습니다. 당시엔 그냥 그런게 있었나보다 했는데, 최근에 찾아보니 꽤 심각했더라고요.
 크리스탈 캐슬즈란 그룹의 생명은 그때 사실상 끝나버렸습니다.
 여하튼, 위선적인 캐나다놈들에 대한 이야기는 둘째치고  끝이 안좋긴 했다만 1집부터 3집까지, 특유의 고급스럽지 못한 감성과 카리스마 때문에 아직까지 가끔씩 찾아듣습니다. 
 그리고 이 곡만큼 대중성과 크리스탈 캐슬즈의 B급 감성을 잘 버무린 곡은 얼마 없지 않나 싶습니다. 원곡 자체도 한때 인기있던 곡이었던만큼 대중적인 감성과 마이너한 감성의 차이를 느껴보는 것도 좋고요. 물론 지금 와선 커버곡이 더 인기있지만요. 
 가사의 차이를 음미하는 것도 나름대로의 즐거움입니다.   
  커버곡이 유혹을 이겨내면서 이별을 감내하려하는 힘겨운 의지가 드러난다면, 원곡은 상대방을 스토커 취급하는 화자, 그리고 간주에서 화자의 태도와 거짓말을 따지면서도 집 안으로 들여보내려는 상대방의 기묘한 감정선을 표한 곡이 되겠습니다. 가사에서 단어 몇 개 바꿨다고 이렇게 바뀌는게 신기하기도 하네요.
